I am a 39 year-old Irish man with no dependants, living in Dublin, Ireland. I am working towards financial freedom since 2018. What got me started on this path? Well, in 2017 my employment situation changed when I signed a new contract. This new contract made me permanent but also effectively cut my salary in half. As a result, I had to be very careful with money. I googled “personal finance” for the first time in my life.
I soon became interested in the topic and started reading books, blogs and listening to podcasts about how to manage your money. Like many people who started learning about personal finance, I read Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki and The Richest Man in Babylon by George S. Clason.
I also became interested in some related topics like frugality, minimlism, sustainable living, property investing and DIY.
I decided to start writing a blog about my financial goals, investments and DIY ambitions in July 2018 because I wanted to share my experiences and also document the process for myself
